University to welcome alumni, celebrate Homecoming 2012

Waynesburg University will celebrate Homecoming 2012 Friday, Oct. 5, through Saturday, Oct. 6, with a number of activities for students, alumni and members of the community.

“It is exciting to welcome back members of the University family as we celebrate the growth of our campus and the mission of this institution,” said Waynesburg University President Timothy R. Thyreen. “Homecoming is a wonderful opportunity for the campus community and our alumni to join in reflection on the impact the University has had on their lives.”

The weekend will offer a variety of scheduled activities including class reunions, athletic events, a 5K walk/run, fireworks and more.

“Our alumni are such an important part of the University community, and Homecoming gives them the chance to reconnect with their classmates and meet current students,” said Heidi Szuminsky, director of Donor and Alumni Relations at Waynesburg University. “We look forward to a wonderful turnout this year.”
