Waynesburg University to offer live coverage of football game against rival W&J
Waynesburg University students will televise the Saturday, Nov. 10, Waynesburg University vs. Washington & Jefferson College football game. Coverage begins at 1:00 p.m. on channel 14 on the Comcast cable system serving the Waynesburg area. The game also can be seen on-line at this link: http://wctv.waynesburg.edu.
Waynesburg hosts the rival Presidents for the conference’s automatic bid and a spot in the Division III football playoffs. The contest also serves as the annual “PAC Backyard Brawl” and senior day at John F. Wiley Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
Department of Communication students will use the school’s TV production truck to provide coverage of the game. Approximately 33 students will work the production – from two announcers in the booth to a sideline reporter. Other crew positions include camera operators, graphic artists using special computers to create the score graphics, replay operators and students holding large microphones to capture the sounds of the game, such as a punter’s foot kicking the ball.
The purpose of the live Webcast is to ensure Waynesburg University alumni across the country can watch live coverage of the game.
If unable to watch the game live, tape delay TV coverage will be available at: http://wctv.waynesburg.edu. Click “WUSN Remote Productions” and search for the game.
