The Waynesburg University Education Department encourages everyone to give the gift of reading this holiday season and to stop by its Scholastic Book Fair Monday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 30. Hours are noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. daily in Alumni Hall.

Book fair offerings include children’s classics, series, adventures, teen bestsellers and award-winning titles for K-12 students.

“Books make great gifts for children of all ages, and this is the perfect opportunity to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping,” said Fran Boyd, associate professor of education. “Scholastic Book Fairs are fun community events that help inspire children to become lifelong readers.”

Part of the proceeds will be used to purchase books for the Waynesburg University Reading Clinic. The free program teams up education majors with participants of all skill levels for a fun learning experience.

The spring Reading Clinic kicks off Monday, Jan. 28, for students in grades K-8. The group meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. in 325 Miller Hall at Waynesburg University.

To register, visit and complete the online form by Jan. 14.
