Posted by Samantha McClintock on Wed, Mar 20, 2013 @ 15:03 PM

Directed by Edward L. Powers, associate professor of theatre at Waynesburg University, the Waynesburg University Players will present “Anything Goes” Wednesday, April 3, through Saturday, April 6. The performances will take place in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend.

The Waynesburg University Players presented this Cole Porter show in 2002, and popularity has encouraged Powers to lead the musical once more.

“This musical comedy is a high seas adventure of love, laughter and song. The music is upbeat and enjoyable and the dialogue is full of jokes,” said Powers. “‘Anything Goes’ was one of the most popular Broadway productions of the 1930s and the Waynesburg University Players invite all of you to join us for this toe-tapping cruise.”
The show follows young hero Billy as he stows away aboard the S.S. American searching for his true love. Familiar songs include "You're the Top," "It's De-Lovely," "Blow Gabriel Blow" and "Friendship," to name a few.
