President's Recognition Day


President and Mrs. Lee requests the honor of your presence at Waynesburg University’s President’s Recognition Day on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at nine o’clock in the morning.

During this day you will be recognized for your accomplishments and honored for your acceptance into Waynesburg University’s Class of 2018 during a formal lunch with President Lee. In addition to the recognition ceremony, you will have the opportunity to participate in the day's schedule below.

9:00-9:30 AM- Registration
9:30-10:00 AM- Welcome
10:00 AM -12:00 PM- Department Showcase
11:00 AM -12:00 PM- Parent Session with Student Services
12:00-1:00 PM- Lunch Reception with President Lee

1:00-2:00 PM- Eagle Scout & Gold Award Reception*
1:00-2:30 PM- Campus Tours (Offered every half hour)
1:00-2:00 PM- Student Activities Fair
1:00-3:00 PM- Student ID Card Photos
1:00-3:00 PM- #WUPRD Photo Booth
1:00-2:00 PM- Exploring, Advising & Major Options

Q: Why should I attend the President's recognition Day?
A: You are a part of a select group of students who have been accepted into Waynesburg University's Class of 2018. President and Mrs. Lee would like to honor your accomplishments and congratulate you in person during this day.

Q: How long will the day last?
A: Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the recognition ceremony and luncheon will conclude by 1:00 pm; however, there are optional sessions in the afternoon that will help you understand what it will be like to be a Waynesburg University student?

Q: Do I have to be enrolled for the fall in order to attend this day?
A: No. This day is a good way for you evaluate your "fit" at Waynesburg University whether you have officially enrolled or not as you will be able to get an inside look at what it is like to be a student here with the activities that will be taking place on the day.

Q: What is the dress for the day?
A: Business casual.

Q: I have applied for Competitive Merit Scholarships and have been notified that I qualify for an interview. Will I be able to interview on campus during this day?
A: It is possible that you may be able to qualify for an interview while you are campus. The Merit Scholarship Committee coordinates interview times based on the committee availability. If you qualify for an interview, you will be notified of your interview time via an email and letter in the mail mid-January. The majority of the interviews that will be conducted on February 8 will be conducted between the times of 1:00 and 6:00 pm. If you have questions on whether you qualify for an interview or what time your interview will be scheduled, please call Jessica Sumpter at 724-852-3446.

Q: I am coming from a distance and would like to stay overnight in the dorms with a current student. Is this a possibility?
A: An overnight visitation may be possible on Friday, February 7, but it is limited to host availability and will be reserved for students coming from a distance. If you would like to request an Overnight Visitation, please complete this form
